Non Oily Oil should do the trick!
But,it would be called roasting..
Use butter. It's worse for cholesterol but is much less likely to sprinkle around - the resulting flavor is also sweeter.

Cholesterol is not our concern but oil is :-)! But I suppose clarified butter; also, "extra virgin" coconut oil probably okay for deep frying.
Just bake it. I make my koftas by baking. It has come out good and is much healthier compared to frying.
Manju:I think my stupid question is the result of an unreasonable desire for an uncompromising approach. An alternative approach gives a feeling of an artificial gratification.
